Chapter meetings are generally held on the first Saturday of
the month, September to June, at 1:00 p.m.
The Rebecca Emery Chapter has members residing in towns throughout York
County, Maine, including: Acton, Alfred, Arundel, Biddeford, Biddeford
Pool, Berwick, Buxton, Cape Elizabeth, Cape Porpoise, Dayton,
Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Lebanon, Limerick, Limington, Lyman, Moody,
South Berwick, Ocean Park, Old Orchard Beach, Princeton, Saco, Sanford,
Springvale, Standish, Waterboro, and Wells.
Additionally, several members are out-of-state residents.
The following are examples of the ways Rebecca Emery Chapter
supports the NSDAR objectives of historical preservation, education,
- We own and maintain a historical marker placed at the site
of Richard Vines' home in Biddeford Pool.
- So far, we have honored 95 Revolutionary War Soldiers with
NSDAR markers at their graves.
- We offer the DAR
Good Citizens Award to nine high schools in our area.
- We also provide the
American History Essay and the Christopher Columbus Essay Contests
to area schools.
- We provide the local elementary schools with an essay
contest on The Flag of the United State of America.
- Our chapter is very involved with supporting active duty
members of the military through the DAR Project Patriot.
- We sponsor a local
Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.) Society named
Reverend John Fairfield Society. Members of the chapter have served or
are currently serving the C.A.R. at the state, district, and national
